Fiona Daidy is a multimedia artist from Virginia with a 2D Animation BFA from the Pratt Institute of Art. Fiona has spent most of her life on the East Coast but her artistic journey has been heavily influenced by her time in New Mexico and Yellowstone. The ever-expanding desert landscapes and eccentric culture inspired her love for all things eerie and mysterious.

Fiona creates work where the unsettling and the beautiful meet. Her work is like rolling a log over to reveal the creepy crawlies beneath — she is drawn to the exploration of the coexistence of odd and alluring. Through animation, digital sculpting, drawing, painting, and woodworking, Fiona aims to capture the natural world through the lens of trauma, childhood, and imagination. Her love of science and experimentation is infused into her art which provokes a sense of curiosity and pushes her to delve deeper into both artistic and natural studies.

Fiona has had the honor of showcasing her film Exit 27 at the Pratt Institute of Art’s Best Of Animation show as well as film festivals such as ASIFA-East, the Student Academy Awards, and MAX3MIN. Her punch-needled work, “Intergalactic Remedy”, was shown at the Women in the Arts Museum in Washington, D.C., and has won multiple awards for her portfolio from the Pratt Institute of Art, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Virginia Commonwealth University Arts. Professionally, Fiona has worked on animated projects like an informative commercial for the non-profit, Portland Wheelers. She shares her love of the arts and learning with students of all ages at Arlington Public Schools where she has worked since 2022.

Outside of her creative pursuits, Fiona can be found volunteering at local parks and stables. Connecting with her community and local ecosystems keeps her grounded and artistically and scientifically fed.
